CONNECTING AND DISCONNECTING THE
AC230V ELECTRICAL CABLE
Before plugging in or unplugging the machine you
must always switch off the applied load and put
the general switch of the electrical transport line
(not included) to “O - OFF”.
Grip the plug in the socket area and, when the
generator socket is plugged in/unplugged do not
touch earthed parts, such as the generator itself,
fences, pipes, lighting points, etc. with your free
hand or body.
Connecting the electrical load
1. Turn the user line switch to “O - OFF” (not in-
cluded, normally the general switch of the applied
load, so as to isolate the load from the generator).
2. Check that no plug is plugged into the generator.
2. Start the generator and wait 2 minutes for the
engine to warm up and rotate normally.
3. Check the warning light (pos.16) is on; if it is
flashing wait.
4. Connect a suitable plug, from the user appliance
or from the extension cable, to the generator
socket.
5. Turn the line switch to “I - ON” and turn on
the user.
Disconnecting the electrical load
1. Turn off the user and turn the line switch to “O -
OFF” (not included, normally the general switch
of the applied load, so as to isolate the load from
the generator).
2. Unplug the plug from the generator socket, grip-
ping the plug and not pulling the cable.
3. Turn off the generator.
SHUTDOWN OF THE ENGINE IN CASE OF LOW
ENGINE OIL
The engine has an automatic emergency stop de-
vice if there is not enough oil. This device prevents
serious damage to the engine.
If the device intervenes, the yellow warning light
(pos.14) comes on first then the engine turns off;
do not try to start it but restore the correct level of
oil (see Maintenance chapter).
If you try to start up with an insufficient oil, the
generator does not start and the yellow warning
light comes on briefly to indicate the problem.
ELECTRICAL OVERLOAD PROTECTION SYSTEM
The generator is equipped with an automatic electri-
cal disengagement device if the requested load is
over the dispensable power; this device prevents
serious damage to the generator.
If the device intervenes the red warning light
(pos.15) comes on first and after a few seconds
the electric power is disconnected; check the total
power of the applied load and reduce it until the
generator rated power is reached (see above for
the power factor and relative calculation to use).
To restore the power supply from the generator it
is necessary to switch it off, wait a few seconds
and switch it on again.
POWER SUPPLY INDICATOR
The green warning light (pos. 16) indicates if the
generator is ready to supply electric power:
- flashing light: not ready, wait before plugging in.
- light on: ready, you can now plug the load into
the generator socket.
ECONOMISER
This is a system that automatically regulates the
number of engine revolutions according to the ap-
plied load, therefore if it is used it will reduce the
fuel consumption; avoid operating the generator on
maximum speed with lower wear on the compo-
nents, a smaller amount of gas will be emitted into
the atmosphere and you will save on fuel costs.
It is possible that the economiser will not intervene in
the event of a load variation that is limited over time.
When high loads are applied simultaneously, switch
to off “O - OFF” in order to avoid continuous engine
revolution and voltage variations.
Press the switch (pos.12) according to require-
ments:
- economiser on “I - ON”: adjusts the number of
engine revolutions according to the applied load.
- economiser off “O - OFF”: the engine operates
on the maximum number of revolutions.
12V DC BATTERY CHARGING SOCKET
!
!
IMPORTANT! Non-observance of the correct
procedures for charging the battery could cause
damage to the latter and explosion. Read the bat-
tery warnings and instructions and apply them.
!
!
IMPORTANT! During charging the battery
emits a gas that is highly flammable and hazard-
ous to health. Charge in well-ventilated places
away from flames, sparks, cigarettes and all
sources of heat. Always wear safety gloves and
safety goggles.
!
!
IMPORTANT! The 12V DC generator socket is
only to be used as a battery charger for vehicle
batteries; do not apply it to other types of bat-
teries. Never apply a 230V load together with a
12V load. Only use one socket at a time.
!
!
IMPORTANT! The generator supplies current
sufficient for charging batteries up to 70 Ah/ 12V.
