FP15 & FP15A Waterloo - Installation and Operation Manual

5.1.3

Door Adjustment

In order for your fireplace to burn at its best efficiency, the door must provide a perfect seal with the

firebox. Therefore, the gasket should be inspected periodically to check for a good seal. The gasket seal may

be improved with a simple latch mechanism adjustment. To adjust:

Remove the split pin by pulling and turning

it using pliers.

Turn the handle counter clock wise one

turn to increase pressure. To reduce the

pressure, when installing a new gasket for

example, turn clock wise.

Re-install the split pin with a small hammer.

NOTE:

At the end of each heating season, it is recommended to add a high temperature graphite paste on

the threads of the door handle. This paste protects the threads from rust and prevents the accumulation of

dust that can, over time, prevent the handle from rotating freely.
