FP14 Cartier - Installation and Operation Manual

Refractory

slabs

Replacement

The

intense

heat

of

the

fire

will

normally

cause

hairline

cracks

in

the

refractory

slabs.

These

cracks

can

be

minimized

by

proper

curing

as

described

in

“First

Fires”.

They

will

not

normally

diminish

the

effectiveness

of

the

refractory

slabs.

If

large

cracks

develop,

then

the

refractory

slabs

should

be

replaced.

To

replace

the

refractory

slabs,

follow

these

steps:

1

‐

Using

a

ratchet

and

a

7/16”

(12

mm)

hexagonal

socket,

unscrew

the

two

bolts

(A)

and

remove

the

andiron

(B).

If

necessary,

replace

the

insulating

gasket

(C)

under

the

andiron.

‐

Remove

the

front

refractory

slab

(D)

and

floor

refractory

slab

(E).
