Data Over Voice
Data Over Voice (DOV) is a feature that allows the I-modem to make more cost
effective 3.1 kHz analog calls while allowing the I-modem to send digital data
at 56 kbps.
DOV is becoming widely used due to the fact that Regional Bell Operating
Companies charge less for analog calls than digital calls. DOV allows users to
pay a lower fee while taking advantage of the digital transmission.
