STARTING THE ENGINE
For your safety, avoid starting or running the
generator in a closed area such as a garage.
Generator exhaust gases contain toxic carbon
monoxide that accumulates rapidly in a closed
area and cause illness or death.
Carbon monoxide gas is toxic. Your inhalation
can cause loss of consciousness and even kill you.
Avoid enclosed spaces, partially enclosed areas
or activities that may expose carbon monoxide.
1.
Perform OIL AND FUEL REVIEW.
2.
Make sure that all devices are disconnected
from the AC receptacles.
3.
Turn the fuel cap vent lever to the ON posi-
tion.
4.
To start a cold engine, move the lever to
the CLOSED position. To start the engine
when it is hot, leave the choke lever in the
OPEN position.
5.
Turn the engine switch to the ON position.
6.
Pull the starter handle until resistance is
felt, then pull hard.
7.
If the throttle lever moves to the CLOSED
position to start the engine, move it grad-
ually to the OPEN position as the engine
heats up.
8.
If you want to use the Eco-accelerator sys-
tem, turn the Eco-accelerator switch to the
ON position when the engine has been
heated for 2 or 3 minutes.
9.
Consult OPERATION AC or DC, to connect
the loads to the generator.
STOPPING THE ENGINE
To shut off the engine in an emergency, simply
turn the engine switch to the OFF position. Un-
der normal conditions, use the following proce-
dure. Disconnect electrical appliances from gen-
erator receptacles.
Turn the engine switch to the OFF position. The
fuel valve will close automatically.
Allow the engine to cool well, turn the ventila-
tion lever to the OFF position.
If two generators are connected for parallel op-
eration, disconnect the operation equipment in
parallel after stopping the motors if you do not
wish to resume parallel operation.
MAINTENANCE
Good maintenance is essential for safe, econom-
ical operation and problems.
It will also help reduce air pollution.
WARNING: Improper maintenance, or not cor-
recting a problem before operation, can cause
a malfunction in which you may be in danger of
serious injury or death.
Always follow the inspection and maintenance
recommendations and programs in this user
manual. To help you take proper care of your
generator, here is a maintenance program, rou-
tine inspection procedures and simple main-
tenance procedures using basic manual tools.
Other service tasks that are more difficult, or
that require special tools, are best handled by
professionals and are usually performed by a
qualified technician or another.
The maintenance program applies to normal
operating conditions. If you operate the genera-
tor under severe conditions, such as high load or
sustained high temperature operation, or use it
in wet or dusty conditions, consult your dealer
for recommendations applicable to your indi-
vidual needs and applications.
Remember that your service dealer knows that
your generator is better and is fully equipped
for maintenance and repair.
To ensure the best quality and reliability, use
only new original spare parts or their equiva-
lents for repair or replacement.
Maintenance, replacement or repair of emission
control devices and systems may be performed
by any engine repair facility or individual, using
parts that are certified.
SAFE MAINTENANCE
Some of the most important safety precau-
tions. However, we can not warn you about all
the conceivable dangers that may arise when
performing maintenance. Only you can decide
whether or not to perform a given task.
WARNING: Failure to follow instructions and
precautions correctly can cause you to be seri-
ously injured or killed.
Always follow the procedures and precautions
in the owner’s manual.
