AC APPLICATIONS

Before connecting an appliance or the power

cable to the generator:

Make sure it is in good working order. Defec-

tive devices or power cords can create an electric

shock potential.

If an appliance starts functioning abnormally,

becomes slow or stops suddenly, turn it off im-

mediately. Disconnect the appliance, and deter-

mine if the problem is the appliance, or if the

nominal capacity of the generator has been ex-

ceeded.

Make sure that the electrical rating of the tool

or device does not exceed that of the generator.

Never exceed the maximum power of the gen-

erator. Power levels between nominal and maxi-

mum can be used for no more than 30 minutes.

AC OPERATION

1.

Start the engine and make sure that the

output light (green) lights up.

2.

Plug in the appliance. Most motorized

devices require more than their nominal

power for the start. If the generator is

overloaded or if a short circuit occurs in a

connected device, the overload indicator

light (red) will light. The overload indicator

light (red) will remain on, and after about

four seconds, the power to the connected

device will turn off, and the output light

(green) will turn off. Stop the engine and

investigate the problem.

DC OPERATION

The DC receptacle should ONLY be used to

charge 12 volt automotive type batteries. The

DC load output is not regulated.

When the DC output is used, set the Eco-acceler-

ator switch to the OFF position. Connecting the

battery charging cable (optional equipment):

1.

Before connecting the battery charging

cable to a battery that is installed in a ve-

hicle, disconnect the ground wire of the

vehicle battery from the negative (-) of the

battery.

WARNING: The battery emits explosive gases;

Keep sparks, flames and cigarettes away. Pro-

vide adequate ventilation when charging or us-

ing batteries.

WARNING: The terminals, terminals and related

accessories contain lead and lead components.

Wash your hands after handling.

2.

Connect the battery charging cable to the

DC receptacle of the generator.

3.

Connect the red cable from the battery

charging cable to the positive (+) terminal

of the battery and the black cable to the

negative (-) terminal of the battery.

4.

Start the generator.

Disconnect the charging cable from the battery:

1.

Stop the engine.

2.

Disconnect the black cable from the bat-

tery charging cable from the negative (-)

terminal of the battery.

3.

Disconnect the red wire from the battery

charging cable from the positive terminal

(+) of the battery.

4.

Disconnect the battery charging cable

from the generator’s DC outlet.

5.

Connect the ground wire of the vehicle

battery to the negative (-) terminal of the

battery.

ECONOMIC MODE

If high electrical loads are connected simultane-

ously, turn the Eco-accelerator switch to the off

position to reduce the voltage changes.

The economic system is not effective for use

with appliances that require momentary power.

If you use these devices, deactivate this mode

(OFF).

PRE-OPERATION CHECK

ENGINE OIL

Check the oil level before each use with the gen-

erator on a horizontal surface and the engine

stopped. Use 4-stroke engine oil that meets or

exceeds the requirements for API SJ classifica-

tion service or later (or equivalent). Always

check the API service label of the oil container

to make sure it includes the letters SJ or later

(or equivalent).

SAE 10W-30 oil is recommended for general use

at any temperature. Other viscosities shown in

the graph can be used when the average tem-

perature of your generator is within the indi-

cated range

1.

Place the generator on a level surface.

2.

Loosen the screw on the cover and remove

the maintenance cover.

3.

Remove the oil filler cap and clean the dip-

stick.

4.

Check the oil level by inserting the rod into

the filler neck without screwing it.

5.

If the level is low, fill up to the upper

limit of the oil filler neck with the recom-

mended oil.

6.

Reinstall the maintenance cover and

tighten the cover screw firmly.

FILLING OF FUEL

With the engine stopped, remove the fuel tank

cap and check the fuel level. Refill the fuel tank

if the fuel level is low. Fill the tank with care to

avoid spilling fuel. Do not fill.
