CARBON REMOVAL OF ENGINE INTERNAL 
PARTS
Every 50 hours of operation
These rtems must be performed with proper 
tools. See your authorized service center for 
service and maintenance.

STORAGE

STORAGE (LESS THAN 1 MONTH)
1. Clean all foreign material from the trimmer. 
Store it in a well-ventilated place that is inac-
cessible to children. Keep away from corrosive 
agents such as garden chemicals and de-icing 
salts.
2. Abide by all ISO and local regulations for the 
safe storage and handling of gasoline. Excess 
fuel should be used up in other 2-cycle engine 
powered equipment.

STORAGE (1 MONTH OR LONGER)
1. Drain all fuel from tank into a container ap-
proved for gasoline. Run engine until it stops.
2. Clean all foreign material from the trimmer. 
Store it in a well-ventilated place that is inac-
cessible to children. Keep away from corrosive 
agents such as garden chemicals and de-icing 
salts.
3. Abide by all ISO and local regulations for the 
safe storage and handling of gasoline. Excess 
fuel should be used up in other 2-cycle engine 
powered equipment.

TROUBLESHOOTING

ENGINE WON’T START OR OUTPUT IS LOW
Insufficient compression:

Faulty piston, cylinder and piston ring.  Consult  
an authorized service center.
Loose spark plug. Loose cylinder bolts. Tighten 
properly.

No fuel to combustion chamber:

No fuel in fuel tank. Fill fuel tank.
Blocked fuel Mer or tube. Clean it.
Blocked air vent in tank cap. Clean it.
Faulty carburetor. Consult  an authorized ser-
vice center.

Spark plug fouled by fuel:

Over-rich fuel/air mixture. Turn lift up lever to 
“RUNNING” position. Move the choke lever to 
“OPEN” position. Pull recoil starter grip with 
spark plug removed to discharge excess fuel.
Clean spark plug.
Clogged air cleaner. Clean it.
Faulty carburetor. Consult  an authorized ser-
vice center.
Incorrect grade I type of fuel. Water fuel. 
Change fuel.

No spark or weak spark:

Faulty spark plug. Replace spark plug.
Faulty ignition coil. Consult  an authorized 
service center.
Engine switch left in “0” (stopping) position. 
Turn engine switch to “I” (starting) position

LOW OUTPUT
Engine overheats:

Clogged air cleaner. Clean it. 
Recoil starter or cooling air path clogged with
dirt.
 Clean it.
Carbon built-up in combustion chamber. Con-
sult  an authorized service center.
Poor ventilation around engine. Select a bet-
ter location.
