Learning Feature
The FOXTEL iQ Remote offers a Learning Feature that allows you to copy
almost any function from your original remote control onto the FOXTEL iQ
Remote.
Please note that the Learning Feature is not possible when the FOXTEL iQ
Remote Control is in FOXTEL mode. The

Before you start:
•
Make sure your original remote is working correctly.
•
Make sure the FOXTEL Service is not displaying battery low indicator
•
Make sure neither the new FOXTEL iQ Remote, nor your original remote
control is pointing at your device.
•
The FOXTEL iQ Remote can learn up to 20 functions.
Example: To copy the "Power" function from your original
remote control onto the Power button in AV mode of the
FOXTEL iQ Remote:
1.
Place the FOXTEL iQ Remote and your original remote
control on a flat surface. Make sure the ends which you
normally point at your device are facing each other. Keep
the Remote Controls at a distance of 2 to 5 cm (one to
two inches).
2.
Press the
av
button on the FOXTEL iQ Remote.
3.
Press and hold the select button, then press and hold the
red
button. Keep both buttons held down until the LED
on the FOXTEL iQ Remote flashes twice
4.
Press

(the LED will flash twice).
5.
Press and release the button on the where you want to
place the learned function (e.g.
power
button). The LED
will flash rapidly.
6.
Press and hold the button on your original remote control
that you want to copy (e.g.
power
button) until the LED
on the FOXTEL iQ Remote flashes twice
7.
If you want to copy other functions repeat steps 5 and 6
pressing the next button you want to copy by learning.
8.
To exit the learning mode, press and hold the
select
button until the LED flashes. The FOXTEL iQ Remote will
also time-out of learning mode if no buttons are pressed
for 10 seconds.
-
If you are having trouble learning a function that behaves as a toggle,
ie the function is turned on and off with the same button, for example
the mute function, then in Step 6 rather than holding down the button
on the original Remote Control try pressing and releasing it instead.
-
If you have trouble using the learning feature please make sure you are
away from direct sunlight or incandescent lights.
