Press and hold

to toggle DIMMER On or Off.

Dimmer level is fixed to level 1 of LCD backlight. So even if the LCD

backlight is off, dimmer is level 1.

The GPS501 can be used as a GPS unit by connecting with a PC or other device which can

interpret NMEA version (3.01) data.

The GPS501 continuously outputs NMEA sentences via the USB socket. This is only

interrupted if it receives a connection request from the Update Software, see PC UPDATES

page 32. (The NMEA output continues after it receives the cancel request.)
