When using your EZ

1.
Read and understand all instructions.
2.
Follow all warnings and instructions marked on
the EZ

3.
Unplug the EZ

before cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol
cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning.

Do not use the EZ

Pro near water–bath tub,
wash bowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub,
swimming pool, or in a wet basement.
5.
Do not place the EZ
com

stand, or table. The EZ
com

become seriously damaged.
6.
The EZ
com
Pro should be operated only from
the type of power source indicated on its
marking label. If you are not sure of the type of
power supply to your home or business, consult
your dealer or local power company.
7.
Do not allow anything to rest on the power
cord. Do not place the EZ
com
Pro where the
power cord will be abused by people walking
on it.
8.
Do not overload wall outlets and extension
cords. This overloading can result in a fire or
electric shock.
9.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not
disassemble the EZ
com
Pro. Take it to a
qualified service person when service or repair
work is required. Opening or removing covers
may expose you to dangerous voltages or other
risks. Incorrect reassembly can cause electric
shock when the EZ
com

used.
10.
Ultratec recommends plugging your EZ
com
Pro
into a surge-protected outlet. This will protect
the TTY from damage caused by electrical
surges due to lightening or other causes.
11.
Unplug the EZ
com
Pro from the wall outlet and
refer servicing to qualified service personnel
under the following conditions:
a.
If the power supply cord or plug is damaged
or frayed.
b.
If liquid has been spilled into the EZ
com
Pro.
c.
If the EZ
com
Pro has been exposed to rain or
water.
d.
If the EZ

by following the operating instructions.
Adjust only those controls that are covered
by the operating instructions. Improper
adjustment of other controls may result in
damage and will often require extensive
work by a qualified technician to restore the
EZ
com
Pro to normal operation.
e.
If the EZ
com
Pro has been dropped and
damaged.
f.
If the EZ
com
Pro exhibits a distinct change in
performance.
12.
Avoid using the EZ
com

storm. There is a remote risk of electric shock
from lightning.
13.
Do not use the EZ
com
Pro or any telephone to
report a gas leak in the vicinity of the leak.
Battery safety
CAUTION!
To reduce the risk of fire or injury to
persons, read and follow these instructions:
1.
Use only the following type and size batteries:
(4) AA alkaline batteries.
2.
Do not dispose of the batteries in a fire. The
cells may explode. Check with local codes for
special disposal instructions.
3.
Do not open or mutilate the batteries. Released
electrolyte is corrosive and can cause damage to
the eyes and skin. Electrolyte may be toxic if
swallowed.
4.
Use care in handling the batteries to avoid
shorting them with conducting materials such
as rings, bracelets, or keys. The batteries may
overheat and cause burns.
