4. USE
4.1. Safety instructions
1. A specialist medical assessment must be conducted before the injured party is moved, lifted or transported.
2. At least 2 users are required to operate the basket stretcher to ensure the patient’s safety.
3. The injured party must be immobilized on the basket stretcher during every use. Insufficient or no restraint may
lead to severe patient or rescuer injuries
4. If any serious incidents (disabilities or death) should occur in connection with the product, they should be
reported to the manufacturer and to the relevant authorities of the member state in which the user is located,
in compliance with the German Medical Devices Act (“MPG”).
4.2. Positioning the injured party on the basket stretcher
1. Before lifting the patient, bring the basket stretcher as close to the patient as possible and into the most favourable position.
2. Depending on the situation, the patient may have to be repositioned. In this case, remove the injured patient from the previous immobili-
zation system.
3. Restrain the injured party on the basket stretcher using the 3 patient restraint straps. Ensure that the straps are not too tight.
4.3. Attaching the footrest
1. Unfold the footrest, carefully slide the lower part under the feet of the injured party and adjust it to a suitable height to stop the injured
party from slipping. The feet should be fixated using the two Velcro safety straps (Image 7).
2. Use the clamping hooks to attach the straps of the footrest to the recesses in the basket stretcher (Image 1). For SAN-0087-1-M please
use the carbines to attach the footrest on the rungs of the metal frame.
