3.2 Replacing and shortening the collar
The collar part of the device is replaceable
and can be cut to a desired length.
You can detach the collar part from the
device as follows:
Hold the device in one hand by the device’s
battery compartment with the battery
compartment and the buckle facing away
from you. With your other hand, push
the collar underneath the electronics
compartment, which will make the device
slide on the collar away from the buckle.
Do not attempt to pull the collar out by the
buckle end with force.
To install a new collar part into the device,
thread the collar carefully into the device
with the tip facing forward, beginning at the
battery compartment.
You can also shorten the collar by cutting it to
the desired length. Do not cut sections of the
collar between the casings!
3.3 Attaching the external GSM-antenna
It is possible to attach an external GSM-
antenna on the device if the GSM-reception
in the area so requires. In normal conditions,
the device does not need the use of an
external GSM-antenna. Take special care in
attaching and removing the antenna. The
antenna is available as an accessory from
Ultracom retailers. Before installing the
antenna, remove protective plastic screw
from the antenna connector. Only use
antennas and antenna accessories supplied
by Ultracom Oy.
3.4 Installing batteries
Remove the battery compartment cap by
unscrewing it and place one 3,7 V 18650 -size
Li-ion battery in the compartment. Take note
of the (+) and (-) markings on the battery and
the battery compartment. Only batteries
that are approved by the manufacturer and
that are equipped with a protection chip
should be used in the device.
