VOICE COMMANDS
USE OF THE VOICE
COMMANDS
Please follow the suggestions below
to be sure that the voice commands
are always recognized by the system:
speak at a normal volume;
always wait for the "beep"
(warning sound) before speaking;
the system is capable of
recognizing the voice commands
given, irrespective of gender, tone
of voice and intonation of the
person giving the instructions;
if possible, try and keep the noise
in the passenger compartment to
a minimum;
before giving voice commands,
ask other passengers not
to talk. This is to prevent
misunderstanding since the
system may recognize other words
(in addition to or different from your
voice command) if several people
are speaking;
for optimum operation, it is
advisable to close the windows
and the sunroof (for versions/
markets, where provided) to avoid
external interference;
to guarantee correct operation
of the voice commands for the
connected mobile phone, make
sure that the phonebook has
been completely downloaded
(or updated) by the
Uconnect™
system: usually 5-10 seconds
after pairing the phone with the
Uconnect™
system are enough.
WARNING Voice commands must
always be given in safe driving
conditions, in compliance with the
laws in force in the country where
you are driving and using the mobile
phone correctly. For languages not
supported by the system, voice
controls are not available.
IMPORTANT The volume of the voice
commands can only be adjusted
while they are being reproduced by
operating button/knob (ON/OFF).
Voice recognition microphones
(where provided)
On some versions, two microphones
for the voice recognition function are
located under the soft top lining (near
the sunshade on the driver side and
on the passenger side) fig. 28.
To ensure better control reception by
the system, it is recommended to talk
towards one of two microphones .
