Appendix C-8 Garmin GNS 4XXW-530W GPS Note

The GNS 400W-530W series supports Garmin ADS-B+ output.

The following software requirements are necessary to use the GNS 400W-530W as a
rule compliant position source.

400 SERIES: GNS 400W / 420W / 420AW / 430W / 430AW
500 SERIES: GNS 500W / 500W TAWS / 530W / 530W TAWS / 530AW / 530AW TAWS

Main software version 5.03 or later and GPS software version 5.0 or later.
Software updates are no longer available from your local Garmin supplier

Note: The software update information does not apply to the GNS480

Serial Connection

The GNS series has 4 serial ports for use with various avionics. EchoUAT needs a single wire
from one of the available RS-232 Out on the Garmin to Pin 6 the Echo.

The connector on the 400 Series is P4001
The connector on the 500 Series is P5001
