To increase the brake force, turn the linkage
counterclockwise 1–2 turns.
7.
Engage the park brake and check. If more
adjustment is needed, repeat step .
8.
Retighten the jam nuts.
9.
Check the park brake; repeat steps through if
necessary.
10.
Repeat steps through for right side brake.
Motion Control Linkage
Adjustment
1.
Park the machine on a level surface.
2.
Stop engine, wait for all moving parts to stop, and
remove key. Engage parking brake.
3.
Loosen the two knobs that secure the front
reference/speed control bar and push it all the
way forward. Slightly tighten the knobs.
4.
With the motion control levers in the neutral
position, the gap distance between the front
reference/speed control bar should measure 3.38
inches (86 mm).

If an adjustment is needed, remove the knee pad.
6.
Loosen the two jam nuts at the upper and lower
ends of the ball joints as shown in Figure 40.
To increase the gap, turn the control linkage
counterclockwise. To decrease the gap, turn the
control linkage clockwise.

Retighten the jam nuts on the control linkage.
8.
Replace the knee pad.
Motion Control Tracking
Adjustment
If the machine travels or pulls to one side when the
motion control levers are in the full forward position,
adjust the tracking.
1.
Park the machine on a level surface.
2.
Stop engine, wait for all moving parts to stop, and
remove key. Engage parking brake.
3.
Make sure there is a 3.38 inches (86 mm) gap
between the motion control levers and the front
reference/speed control bar (reference

).
4.
Remove the knee pad.
5.
Loosen the two jam nuts at the upper and lower
ends of the ball joints on the lever that needs to
be adjusted (reference Figure 40).
6.
To increase the speed, turn the control linkage
counterclockwise in quarter turn increments.
