Installing and Working with the PC Client or ‘shell’ Tool
5.1
System Requirements
There are several modes of operation of the PC shell tool, the only difference being where
you choose to retain your data base.
In real terms this means that if you wish to ‘mirror’ the contents of your Site Sentry camera
system on your office PC then you must have at least a 1TB hard drive on the PC in
question.
Alternatively, you may wish to use the removable 1 TB hard drive out of the camera system
as a mobile storage device, ie. plug this into your PC whenever you wish to work with the
Site Sentry camera system data base.
The latter configuration is very useful when working in conjunction with PC machines
which employ SSD technology (Solid State Drive) where the drive size is typically smaller
than a more conventional HDD (Hard Disk Drive)
In either case, you are able to collect partial data from your removable Site Sentry hard
drive for further manipulation and examination.
The Site Sentry software has been created to operate on any Windows operating system
later than Windows 7.
