Controller Verification
After the controller is installed and before running an application, verify that the
controller is operational.

To verify the controller:

Verify that the controller is properly grounded according to directions in
“Effective Grounding Methods” on page 149 .

Remove incoming power, install I
⁄
O and extension bus wiring, and perform a
static check of the wiring.

Before connecting field I
⁄
O wiring, apply power to each baseplate.

Within five minutes, verify that the green Pass indicators on the MPs and all I
⁄
O
modules go on.

Connect the TriStation PC to the appropriate port on the MP.

Connect the field I
⁄
O wiring and devices.

Verify that all process equipment connected to the controller is disabled to
prevent accidental start-up of the equipment during testing.

Turn on power to the controller and the TriStation PC.

Download the TriStation project.

Using the TriStation Control Panel, test all inputs and outputs.

To verify the connections of all I
⁄
O points to the field wiring, use the TriStation
Control Panel.

With output devices disabled, use TriStation facilities to verify the application.

When satisfied that the application is operating properly, enable the output
devices and the process equipment according to the safety requirements for your
environment.
You have now made every effort to ensure that your Trident controller is problem-
free. However, should problems arise, please call a Triconex Field Service
Engineer before starting up your process-control operation.
