Installing a New Disc
- (Fig. 9 – 9b)
• Place the disc over the shaft locating it onto the disc
backing washer. It can be seen that the backing
washer has a raised lip. The hole in the disc should
match the diameter of the raised lip, keeping the disc
mounted central; refit the disc clamping nut (Fig. 9).
• Tighten with fingers until the disc is clamped. Locate
and depress the spindle lock and using the supplied
spanner.
• Tighten the locking washer in a clockwise direction
until the disc is firmly clamped but do not over tighten.
Release the spindle lock and turn the angle grinder
over. (Fig. 9a)
Quick Change Flange - (Fig. 9b)
Only tighten the (tool-free) clamping nut (M)
manually.
For the machine to operate, the clip must
always lie flat on clamping nut.
To secure the (tool-free) clamping nut:
Do not use the (tool-free) clamping nut if
the accessory has a clamping shank thicker than
6 mm!
In this case, use the clamping nut (G) with 2- hole
spanner (C).
• Lock the spindle (Fig. 8a)
• Flip up the clip on the clamping nut.
• Fit the clamping nut (L) on the spindle
• Tighten the clamping nut on the clip manually in a
clockwise direction.
• Flip down the clip again .
To release the (tool-free) clamping nut :
• Lock the spindle (Fig. 8a)
• Flip up the clip on the clamping nut.
• Unscrew the clamping nut , turning it anticlockwise
manually .
WARNING:
Always install grinding disc and
abrasive with the depressed center against the backing
washer. Failure to do so will cause the grinding disc
to crack when tightening the disc clamping nut. This
could result in serious personal injury because of loose
particles breaking off and being thrown from the angle
grinder. Do not overtighten.
Starting and Stopping - (Fig. 10)
CAUTION:
Before inserting the battery
cartridge into the tool, always check to see that the
trigger switch actuates properly and returns to the “OFF”
position when the switch trigger is depressed.
• To start the tool, pull back the safety lever (1) towards
the rear of the machine and then squeeze the On/Off
trigger (2).
• To stop the tool, release the trigger.
Air Vent Cleaning - (Fig. 11)
The tool and its air vents have to be kept clean.
Regularly clean the tool’s air vents or whenever the vents
start to become obstructed.
NOTE: Clean out the dust cover when it is clogged
with dust or foreign matters.
Continuing operation
with a clogged dust cover may damage the tool.
OPERATION
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of serious
personal injury, ALWAYS hold securely in anticipation of
a sudden reaction.
WARNING:
It should never be necessary to
force the tool. The weight of the tool applies adequate
pressure. Forcing and excessive pressure could cause
dangerous disc breakage.
ALWAYS
replace disc if tool is dropped while grinding.
NEVER
bang or hit grinding disc or wheel onto the work
piece. Avoid bouncing and snagging the disc, especially
when working corners, sharp edges etc. This can cause
loss of control and kickback.
NEVER
use tool with wood cutting blades and other
sawblades. Such blades when used on a grinder
frequently kick and cause loss of control leading to
personal injury. After operation, always switch off the
tool and wait until the wheel has come to a complete
stop before putting the tool down. If the tool is operated
continuously until the battery has discharged, allow the
tool to rest for 15 minutes before proceeding with a fresh
battery.
Proper Hand Position - (Fig. 12)
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of serious
personal injury,
ALWAYS
use proper hand position as
shown.
