CHAPTER 3: BASICS OF OPERATION
3 .1 DISPLAY
The scale’s display is actually two LCD’s (Liquid Crystal Display) placed side by side. Both are ca-
pable of displaying the various system messages and information.

As shown in Figure 3-1, the scale displays the class of mail, weight, shipping charge (rate) and des-
tination zone or country. When additional information is needed, the scale will prompt for the infor-
mation. Table 3-1 summarizes the display annunciators.
Annunciator MEANING
RES Indicates that a Registered Mail fee is included in the rate shown.
COD Indicates that a C.O.D. (Collect on Delivery) fee is included in the rate shown.
INS Indicates that an Insurance or Declared Value fee is included in the rate shown.
CERT Indicates that a Certified Mail fee is included in the rate shown.
REMOTE Indicates that the displayed weight is being derived from the remote scale.
HOLD Indicates that the scale is in Hold mode. Refer to Chapter 5 for more information.
