Cleaning & Care
Cleaning the outside of the appliance and the base:
1.
Remove the plug from the wall socket and let the appliance cool down before you clean it.
2.
Do not immerse the appliance, the mains plug/cord in water or any other liquid.
3.
Clean the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth. A little detergent can be added if necessary.
4.
Do not use scouring pads, steel wool, strong solvents or abrasives to clean the appliance, as they
may damage the exterior surfaces.
WARNING!
Never pour liquid cleaning agents to remove lime scale into the water tank.
De-Scaling:
IMPORTANT!
Failure to do so may void your warranty.
•
If you do not descale your steamer regularly, lime scale build-up can cause the following:
•
The appliance takes longer to heat up.
•
The heating element is damaged.
To reduce lime scale build-up:
•
Empty water after each use.
•
Do not let water rest in the appliance.
•
Use filtered water instead of tap water to reduce lime scale build-up.
How To De-Scale:
•
Any regular descaling agent can be used, provided that the correct instructions are followed. To
avoid overfilling, DO NOT fill the appliance if the descaling agent causes foam to form in the water.
•
To thoroughly clean the unit of any decalcification residue, allow it to pass through several clean
water heating cycles each cycle. Then rinse the appliance with clean water.
•
It is advisable to remove limescale deposits regularly.
Removing Limescale Build-up:
If you use a cleaning solution, be sure to follow the instructions.
Natural Cleaning Method for Limescale Removal:
•
Fill the unit with water and vinegar (white wine vinegar, cider vinegar or lemon juice work
particularly well). Let the appliance heat up (be careful not to let the contents evaporate) and let it
rest for 30-40 minutes.
•
When you have finished, empty and rinse the appliance.
•
The appliance must now be free of limescale and ready for use again.
Unit Storage:
If you do not use the appliance for a long time, store it in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original
packaging.
WARNING!
DO NOT immerse any electrical part of the appliance in water, such as motor units or
sockets. See the Cleaning section for instructions.
