Recovering the refrigerant
WARNING
Don't admit air into refrigerant during recovery.
Otherwise, the pressure in the freezing cycle might increase abnormally. Serious injury could occur if it bursts.
[Recovering the refrigerant]
• You need to recover the refrigerant when moving or repairing the indoor and/or outdoor units. You cannot do
this while the air conditioner is running in cooling mode because a protective device will be tripped. Be sure to
recover the refrigerant in test run mode.
• Use a refrigerant recovery device when the amount of refrigerant to be recovered exceeds the initial amount
of 1.3kg.
■
Instructions (Recovery to the Air Conditioner)
1. Power on the air conditioner.
2. To set the air conditioner to test run mode, hold down the Temporary button for more than 10 seconds. Then,
you will hear a “Pi” sound, and the light (green), light (green) and light (orange) lamps will blink quickly to
indicate that the air conditioner has gone into a test run mode.
3. Wait for one minute to elapse, and then close the valve of liquid side.
4. It is recommended to attach a pressure gauge at the service port so that you can determine when refrigerant
recovery has been completed.
5. Upon completion, close the valve of gas side.
6. Stop the air conditioner.
7. Power off the air conditioner.
• Complete Steps 2 to 6 within five minutes. Otherwise, the protective device might trip, causing the outdoor
unit to stop.
• If the recovery operation has been interrupted by the protective device, turn off the air conditioner. In this
case, use a refrigerant recovery device.
