APPENDIX III TROUBLE SHOOTING
DVR Related Problem
Q. Why the DVR cannot record any video?
A. Make sure you have correctly setup the recording. Please check if you have setup certain
things in the main menu:
(1)Go to utility -> HDD Initialization and format the HDD.
(2)Go to the record setup, and check “Schedule – Record Normal”.
(3)Go to the schedule setup, and setup a schedule. Make sure you enable this schedule
and check “Schedule – Record Normal”.
Q. I have setup the motion detection, but it still does not work.
A. To make sure you have correctly setup the motion detection, please check if you have
setup certain things in the main menu:
(1) Go to the record setup, and check “Schedule - Motion”.
(2) Go to the event setup, enter motion setup, and check “Motion Detection”.
(3) Go to the schedule setup, and setup a schedule. Make sure you enable this schedule
and check “Schedule - Motion”.
Q. I have setup the alarm detection, but it still does not work.
A. To make sure you have correctly setup the motion detection, please check if you have
setup certain things in the main menu:
(1) Go to the record setup, and check the “Schedule - Sensor”.
(2) Go to the event setup, enter sensor setup, and check “Sensor Detection”.
(3) Go to the schedule setup, and setup a schedule. Make sure you enable this schedule
and check the “Schedule - Sensor”.
iCMS Related Problem
Q. When I setup a DVR through DVR administration, what should I type for the
ID/Password? Is it the username/password setup in the CMS, or the username/password
setup in DVR?
A: The ID/Password is the username/password setup in DVR. Please identify the ID and
Password that you use, is registered in the DVR, and has been enabled. To register this
ID/Password, go to main menu -> account setup, and type in the user name/password.
Please check on the number to activate it.
Internet Explorer Related Problem
Q. I cannot login to the DVR through Internet Explorer. After I type in the user name and
password, the Internet Explorer stops. Why?
A: Please check if:
(1) you have allowed Active X to be download or run on your PC.
(2) your firewall is opened on your router, and blocked the port.
(3) your anti-virus program is open or not. Some anti-virus may block the
connection.
If closing the firewall or anti-virus program may be inconvenient, please use the AP
(remote desktop) to connect to your DVR.
Remote Desktop Related Problem
Q. I cannot run the AP (remote desktop). What can I do.
A: Make sure you have installed the Direct X 9.0, or it may not function normally.
3G Mobile Phone Related Problem
Q. I cannot run the link on my mobile phone. Why.
A: The link is only supported on certain mobile phone OS that support JPEG format.
Please check this detail with your mobile pohone supplier.
