Shutting Off the Engine
1. Move the throttle control to the O
FF
position and
wait for all moving parts to stop.
2. Close the fuel-shutoff valve and disconnect the
wire from the spark plug if you do not use the
machine or leave it unattended.
Engaging the Parking Brake
Engage the parking brake by pulling the brake lever up toward the handle ( Figure 17 ).

Disengaging the Parking Brake
Disengage the parking brake by pushing the brake lever down away from the handle ( Figure 18 ).

Recycling the Clippings
This machine comes from the factory ready to recycle
grass and leaf clippings back into the lawn. To prepare
the machine to recycle:

If the side-discharge chute is on the machine,
remove it and install the side-discharge deflector;

(page 18) .
