3. Stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for all
moving parts to stop before leaving the operating
position.
4. Clean area around plug with a rag and remove plug
(Fig. 37).

5. Add SAE 90 gear oil until it is level with the bottom of
the hole in the housing (Fig. 37).
6. Apply pipe sealant to the plug and install it.
Replacing the Snowthrower
Belt
Once each year, examine the drive belt for signs of wear
and cracking. If any are found, purchase a belt from an
Authorized Service Dealer and replace it.
Note: The procedure below documents how to replace the
belt when the snowthrower is on the tractor, so you can
replace the belt in the case that it breaks. You can also
easily replace the belt when installing the snowthrower on
the tractor.
Removing Belt
1. Move the snowthrower to a level surface.
2. Disengage the PTO and set the parking brake.
3. Stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for all
moving parts to stop before leaving the operating
position.
4. Lift the snow thrower up to the transport position.
5. Remove the one end of the belt spring from the
snowthrower frame (Fig. 38).
6. Remove the belt from the clutch pulley and the
snowthrower pulleys (Fig. 38 and 39).

Removing the Snowthrower
Note: Save all hardware use when removing the
snowthrower.
1. Disengage the PTO and set the parking brake.
2. Stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for all
moving parts to stop before leaving the operating
position.
3. Raise the attachment to the transport position.
4. Remove the hairpin cotter at the worm gear assembly
and slide the crank handle out of the support (Fig. 40).
