NOZZLE SELECTION L/HA

BEFORE SPRAYING

See the nozzle chart on pages 61-62 to be sure

that your spray nozzles have the capacity

necessary to achieve the application rate

selected.

To select the proper nozzle, you need to know:

1. Recommended application rate in liters per

hectare.

2. Target Vehicle speed in kilometers per hour.

3. Nozzle spacing (20 inches or 50 centimeters).

With this information you can calculate the

volume per minute per nozzle, using the formulas

to the right.

EXAMPLE (

Application Rate = 910 L/hectare

Vehicle Speed = 5 km/h

910 L/ha x 5 km/h x 50 = 3.79 L/min.

kPa you would select nozzle No. 95-9188.

acre or gallons per 1000 sq. ft.

2. Target Vehicle speed in Miles per hour.

3. Nozzle spacing (20 inches or 50 centimeters).

With this information you can calculate the volume

per minute per nozzle using the formulas to the

right. Then select the proper nozzle from the

following charts.
