9. Remove the fuel tank from the engine.

10. Remove the 2 (10 mm) mounting bolts securing the charge coil to the

crankcase.

11. Remove the charge coil from the crankcase.

Alternator Test

1. Make sure the battery is fully charged.

2. Place the positive test lead from the volt meter to the positive terminal on

the mower battery.

3. Place the negative test lead from the volt meter to the negative test lead on

the battery.

4. Start the engine. Check the battery voltage. Voltage specification should be

13.2–16.2 VDC.
