4. Inspect the cylinder head for warpage using a straight edge and feeler gauge.

Measure and compare to specifications:

Service Limit:

0.002 in.

5. Inspect the intake and exhaust ports mounting surface for warpage.

Cylinder Head Valve Seat Inspection

1. Thoroughly clean the cylinder head to remove carbon deposits.

2. Inspect the valve seats for loose seat, proper valve face contact, and proper

seat width.

Standard:

0.028–0.030 in.

Service Limit:

0.040 in.
