Engine fails to start
1. Engine control lever is
disengaged.
2. Spark plug wire is
disconnected
3. Out of fuel or stale fuel
4. Blocked fuel line
5. Fouled spark plug
6. Engine flooding
7. Not enough oil in engine
1. Push the engine control lever
into the starting notch.
2. Attach spark plug wire
securely to spark plug
3. Fill with clean, fresh gasoline
4. Clean fuel line
5. Clean, adjust gap, or replace
6. Wait a few minutes to restart
the engine
7. Add oil more oil to engine
Engine runs
erratically
1. Spark plug wire is loose
2. Blocked fuel line or stale fuel
3. Vent plugged
4. Water or dirt in fuel system
5. Dirty air cleaner

1. Connect and tighten spark
plug wire
2. Clean fuel line. Fill tank with
clean, fresh gasoline

Performance
1.
Trimmer line is too short or
worn.
2. Worn or damaged belt
1. Replace trimmer line.
2. Replace belt
Excessive Vibration
1. Lines are uneven or broken.
2. Screws for mower head are
loose.
3. Loose nuts or bolts.
4. Broken mower head
1. Adjust or replace lines.
2. Tighten scews.
3. Check all bolts and nuts,
including engine bolts.
4. Replace broken part.
Loss of Head Drive
Belt not driving
Put belt on pulleys or replace
belt if broken
