4. Removing/Reinstalling the Exhaust Valve

• Using needle-nose pliers, remove the split pin

from one side of the connecting pin; remove the
exposed flat washer.

• Remove the connecting pin; be careful not to lose

the flat washers.

• Lift the exhaust valve off of the top of the snap-

action unit

• Reverse the steps to reassemble.
• Use a new split pin if the old one

was damaged during disassembly.

• Fold the legs of the split pin

completely so that they are wound
around the connection pin.

exhaust valve seat from the cover unit

• Tighten to a torque of
