5 Operation
56 SmartVap Vaporizer SW 1.n, Instructions for use (en-US)
A Set the dispensing quantity by swiping left on the indicated screen area (1) or by turning
the knob (2) in a clockwise direction.
► The illuminated ring around the turning knob flashes blue.
Setting range for Desflurane dispensing quantity:
0, then 2 to 12, 12 to 18 Vol % in increments of 0.5 Vol %
B Confirm the set dispensing quantity of Desflurane by briefly pressing the turning knob
(2).
► The illuminated ring around the turning knob shows a circling green point of light.
► The dispensing of Desflurane into the fresh gas flow is initiated.

5.7 Dispensing quantity greater than 12 Vol %
WARNING Risk to patient from high Desflurane setting values, resulting in
a reduced oxygen concentration in the fresh gas
High Desflurane concentrations can affect the hot wire flow meas-
urement (if present). The expiratory volume displayed is too high in
this case.
Observe the patient’s condition.
