4.11 The First Time Running the Laser
To be safe, never ever run the laser system unattended.
According to international standard

Yours first engraving tests
The following steps describe how to successfully engrave a first pattern. Please follow the
individual steps:
1. First switch on the water chiller.
2. Switch on you Laser and wait for a beep to note the machine is initialized, and the laser
head will do the reset and find the home from top left corner.
DO NOT
click “ESC” button to
stop the system initialization.
When turn on the power of machine, and note that turn on the Main
switch first and then the Laser switch.
3. After machine finish resetting, adjust the height of working table, place the material
usually on the top left corner of the working table.

Click Z/U button;

Select “Z move”;

Left arrow to move down;

Place the material;

Right arrow to move up;
4. With the help of the focus ruler, adjust the focus distance to 6mm between the bottom of
laser head and the material manually by move up and down the working table.
Open the software RDworksV8.First to set up the values on the “Scanning(Reverse
compernation)” check box.
5. Open Config(s)>>system setting>>Optimize>>Scanning(Reverse compensation),and
there are some default values on the “Scanning(Reverse compernation)” check box.
