The following example description fits a PC with Windows XP installed, and using a USB to
Ethernet converter. The principle will be the same for any other net cards configured.

A PC stores the IP address in the Network Neighbourhood settings. To see the PC IP
address, right click on the Network Neighbourhood icon on the desktop. Select Property.
