Chapter 7 Alignment
WARNING
DO NOT stare into the beam. Wear protective laser goggles as required by
the manufacturer of the laser source. Use proper laser safety procedures.
WARNING
DO NOT perform lens alignment unless the laser source and software
pinhole alignment does not result in a round beam of maximum intensity.
Over adjustment of the lens makes it difficult to realign and may damage
the product.
7.1. Laser Source Alignment
Verify the gross alignment of the laser source through the MPH16-UC emission
port.
1.
Place an iris between the laser source and the MPH16-UC input to
align the laser with the optical axis of the pinhole wheel.
Adjust the iris such that it is slightly bigger than the laser beam size.
2.
Place a translucent material over the MPH16-UC emission port (such
as tape with matte surface).
3.
Switch on the laser source and align the beam to the center of the
MPH16-UC input port.
Make sure the pinhole wheel is at 2 mm.
4.
Check if the transmitted beam is as close as possible to the center of
the emission port opening.
If the transmitted beam is not centered, adjust the laser source
alignment.
