2.2 Electrical Connector
The electrical connector to the eurocard is a AMP 0-103311-8 (DIN 41651), is
mounted at the rear.
If you use a evaluation board, it has a DB9 interface connector.
Option: A 40 pin connector according to TL MSA (40 Pin 0.05” Pluggable Samtec
P/N FTSH-120-03-F-DV-ES) can be mounted on the electronic control board inside
the unit.
2.3 Optical Connector
The standard optical connector will be of FC/APC type and the fiber is Fujikura
Panda (PM) type. The slow axis of the fiber and the polarization are parallel to the
key.
Option: The optical connector and fiber type can be changed according to customer
requirements.
2.4 Thermal management
The bottom of the optical module is the “heat sink surface”. The temperature on this
surface (Case Temperature, register 0x88) should be within the operating
temperature range when the module is in operation.
Option : A heat sink can be attached to the optical module according to customer
requirements. A hole in the side of the ECL1525-U can be done to make place for
this heatsink, so that a higher temperature range can be covered.
2.5 Vibration damping
The optical module is mounted with vibration dampers in the ECL1525 and in the
ECL1525-U. Similar vibration dampers are required for the ECL1525M in a
customers system if specified vibration levels should apply.
