Functions of the Capstan Motor:

- Sets the tape winding speed,
- Drives the reel stands via a belt and a free wheel.

Functions of the Function Control Motor:

- Cassette loading and ejection,
- Loading and unloading of tape,
- Positioning of the mechanism parts.
