You can add additional helical scan profiles by duplicating the existing helical profile under “Manage”
→
“Profiles” or by re-entering the “ HelicalGrey ” command in the command prompt as described
above.
You can change the parameters of the helical scan profile any time, but editing them differs a little bit
from non-helical (spherical) profiles. Figure C. 4 and Table 7.1 show the settings of the STORMBEE
helical scan mode.

You can change the profile name, the resolution and the quality as usual, but the button to change the
horizontal and vertical angles as well as the button to enable or disable colour recording are not
displayed. Instead, there is the Helical Scan Mode Settings button. It opens a screen (Figure C. 5) where
you can adapt the following settings:
Helical Scan Mode:
Select the Helical TTL mode.
Helical Scan Position
Before starting a helical scan you should set the helical scan position in degrees and let the scanner
rotate to this position. You should select Helical Adapter Scan position A (90°)
Number of Scan Lines
Enter an expected number of scan lines. Set this to 200,000.
Split Scan Files
The scan data stream can automatically be split into several files when a certain amount of scan lines
has been reached. The minimum number is 100. Smaller scan files are not supported. Set this equal to
