Scanning / GENESYS 6 (to update a Shindengen supply to the new XP supply) (includes 
one XP power supply, one AC cable, one DC cable, one instruction sheet, one Power 
Supply Bracket, one power entry module, two fuses, one ground label, two washers, two

Included in the 701-XXXXXX and 470-XXXXXX kits listed above is an informational instruction 
sheet detailing how to update a unit based on which power supply is currently installed in it.  The 
content of the instruction is as follows below:

Follow instructions below very carefully. Failure to do so may result in instrument 
damage and/or personal injury.  

•  Use only the required cable(s) per instructions below. Failure to do so may result in instrument damage 

and/or personal injury  

•  Disconnect power from the instrument before servicing.  
•  Observe proper ESD protocol.

Identify which power supply brand/make is present in your instrument and carefully follow appropriate 
instructions below for that particular power supply: 
 

1. Shindengen Power Supply (refer to Figure 1).  

a.  After removing DC power cable (black wires) from the power supply and main PC board, 

discard. 

This cable will not be reused. 

 

b.  After removing AC cable connector from power supply board and power entry module, 

discard. 

This cable will not be reused. 

 

c.  When reassembling, you must use the cables provided in the new kit. The old cables 

are 

not 

compatible with the new power supply.  

d.  New DC cable wires are blue in color.  
e.  For detail on how to wire power entry module with new AC cable harness, refer to 

Figure 4.  

2. TPI Power Supply (refer to Figure 2).  

a.  After removing DC power cable (white wires) from power supply and main PC board, 

discard. 

This cable will not be reused. 

 

b.  After removing AC cable connector from power supply board and power entry module, 

discard. 

This cable will not be reused. 

 

c.  When reassembling, you must use the cables provided in the new kit. The old cables 

are 

not 

compatible with the new power supply.  

d.  New DC cable wires will be blue in color.  
e.  For detail on how to wire power entry module with new AC cable harness, refer to

3. XPiQ Power Supply (refer to Figure 3).
