Recommended Sigma values:
Sigma = 6 enables almost false alarm free searching in areas with
a fairly constant radiation background.
For general use, especially in an urban environment the setting of
a minimum count rate for the Alarm 1 via the PC-configuration
program is recommended to avoid false alarms from certain natu-
ral materials. Frequently paving stone and plates made from gran-
ite contain substantial traces of Uranium and Thorium.

allow the alarm thresh-
olds to be modified. For this setting, the user has 255 seconds
time. Changing the value is effected by pressing the left (Change)
button if the corresponding “Alarm” is selected:
To increment the number, press the up/down arrow keys. To go
on to the next digit or to quit the edit mode, menu use right/left
arrow keys.
Once the last number has been set, quit the editing mode by press-
ing the “Exit”-key. Then, the value set is saved and after 10s the
unit returns to the basic display.
