The maximum rotational energy is not systematically that obtained
with the maximum permissible load on the drive shaft.
Acceleration rate control
The selection of the rate acts on the acceleration time between 0
and 2 000 rpm. Above 2 000 rpm a max rate is applied. However,
the total acceleration time depends upon the inertia of the rotor.

Duration (± 15%) 0 to 90% of maximum speed (slope 9)

Braking rate control
Maximum braking rate is applied until the rotor reaches 2 000 rpm
below which the chosen rate comes into effect. Above 2 000 rpm
there would be no gain in quality of separation if a slower rate of
braking could be applied.
