CHASE RECORDING AND PLAYBACK
RECORDING AND ASSIGNING A CHASE
You can record a Chase under any Scenemaster (other than those marked "Shows" in a similar fashion to a Scene. Every time
you press the Record key, the current output of the desk is recorded in spare memory. Chases are recorded by pressing the
Record key after each set-up, and then assigning the recording to a master for playback. You should always make sure the
Record LED is GREEN before recording any new levels: if it is Red or flashing Red, the Record Buffer needs to be cleared:
1 Hold [RECORD] then press [DBO]: after a Mimic flash the Record LED will change to Green.
The Record Buffer is now clear for recording new levels:
2 Set the Channels Master at Full.
3 Set up a lighting state on the Channel faders, then press [RECORD]. Repeat this for each step of the Chase.
(You can also press Channel Flash keys, and then press Record to record simple Chases).
4 Hold [RECORD] and press a Scenemaster Flash key to assign the recording to the current page.
A short Mimic flash indicates a Chase has been recorded under the Scenemaster. A flashing LED above the Scenemaster shows
a Chase has been recorded. Chases may be a maximum of 30 steps long.
CHASE PLAYBACK
> Set the Speed Master to Full, and raise the fader just assigned as a Chase to Full.
Raising the fader level of a Chase fades up the levels of the Chase steps. The Chase plays forward from the first step if the
Speed LED is Green, and backwards from the last step if the Speed LED is Red. Chases raised by the Scenemaster fader add
levels to the output on a latest takes precedence basis: levels over 5% overwrite other levels. Thus a Chase can flash levels
effectively off (using step levels recorded at 5%), while others are turned on.
CHANGING PAGES
You can change the current Page while the Chase is playing by pressing the Page Up or Down keys. The Page memory feature
ensures that the lighting is not changed, but the page display LEDs will flash the new page number alternately with the last page
number while the Chase is still active on the last page. You can now fade in a new Chase or Scene (using a different master) on
the new page. The Page LEDS will stop flashing and stay in the new page number after the old Chase is faded out.
