Figure 9 - Sharpening Blade
5.
After sharpening, check blade for balance by
supporting blade as shown in Figure 9 using
the centre hole as a guide. File or grind metal
from the heavy end of the blade until the blade
balances.
WARNING: To reduce the possibility of
personal injury while sharpening the
blade, protective glasses and heavy
gloves must be worn.
6.
If blades become badly worn or damaged,
replace with new blades. Order new blades
from your dealer. It is recommended that
blades be replaced in sets. For your
convenience keep a spare set of blades on
hand. Install the blade as shown in Figure 10.
The mounting bolt for blade should be torqued
to 87-108 lbs.ft. (118-147N.m)

Washer” facing to blade. Marks on washer must be
away from blade.
BELT ADJUSTMENT
This belt is located on top of the mower deck under
the belt covers. This belt is properly adjusted at the
factory. When the belt begins to slip adjust the belt
as follows;
1.
Remove the mower from the tractor.
2.
Remove the left hand and right hand belt
covers by removing bolts and washers. Clean
around the gearbox.
3.
Adjust the length of tension spring to 5¾
inches (145 mm) with tension screw and
locknut, as shown in Figure 11, or adjust the
belt tension by pushing the belt midway
between the L.H. Pulley and R.H. Pulley, as
shown in Figure 1 lA. Be sure the idler arm is
moving freely on its pivot pin.
4.
After adjusting the belt, tighten the tension
screw and locknut. Reinstall the belt covers.
