EXPLANATION OF LABEL NOMENCLATURE
The European standard symbols for washing of textiles and their care are used.
3. USE / MODES OF USE
flipLINE 12,5mm is intended for work positioning in tree pruning, trimming, repairing and maintenance.
Teufelberger flipLINE 12,5mm is manufactured using a 1/4“ (6mm) galvanized steel aircraft cable covered
by 16 strands of high tenacity polyester. The cover braid provides tight, snag-free operation for use with
most ascenders/adjusters. flipLINE 12,5mm is manufactured with galvanized eye terminations. Additio-
nally it may be delivered with a DMM Focus S Mini Swivel.
It is not intended for fall arrest purposes – that is to say for applications with risk of free fall. In that case
an EN354 lanyard and an energy absorber must be used.
Use as an EN358 work positioning lanyard: A work positioning lanyard is used as a means of support to
connect a waist belt to an anchor point or to a structure by encircling it. Connect the ends of the flipLINE
to the appropriate attachment points to the left and right of your waist belt.
The work positioning lanyard must be positioned and/or adjusted in such a way that the anchorage point
is maintained at or above waist level; the lanyard is kept taut; and free movement is limited to a maximum
of 0.6 meters. The lanyard and its components shall be inspected after and prior to each use. Thorough-
ly inspect the shrink tubes for any damage and/or signs of wear like protruding wires. By observation
through the clear shrink tubes, visually inspect the condition of the crimp and wire core for any wear,
damage, and/or slippage of the components (without removing the shrink tubes).
Records must be kept about each use and the results of the inspections. It is recommended that the
rope is used by the same person that maintains the history of that line. Prior to use, careful planning and
situation analysis should take place to ensure safety.
According to ANSI Z133-2017 (section 6.3.6) “arborists shall be tied in and use a second means of being
secured (e.g.,lanyard (work-positioning lanyard) or second climbing line) when operating a chain saw in
a tree. Using two work-positioning lanyards or both ends of a two-in-one work-positioning lanyard shall
not be considered acceptable as two means of being secured when using a chain saw in a tree. Excep-
tion: When the employer demonstrates that a greater hazard is posed by using a second means of being
secured while operating a chain saw in that particular situation.”
4. LIMITATIONS OF USE
Never carry out work with this product if, as a result of your physical and mental condition, your safety
might be compromised in scenarios of normal use or in emergencies!
OVERLOADING:
Do not overload rope. Sudden strains or shock loading can cause failure. Shock loading can cause failu-
re of a rope normally strong enough to handle the load. Working loads are not applicable when a rope is
subject to significant dynamic loading. In extreme cases, the dynamic force put on the rope may be two,
three or even more times the normal static load involved. When a working load has been used to select
a rope, the load must be handled slowly and smoothly to minimize dynamic effects and avoid exceeding
the provision for them. If it is suspected that the rope has been shock loaded, it must be retired.
Make sure to not bend the swaged ends of the product.
CAUTION:
WIRE CORE WILL CONDUCT ELECTRICITY; THIS PRODUCT MUST NEVER BE USED AROUND
ENERGIZED ELECTRICAL LINES.
