Notes
The dotted line shows the outline of the
brim guard on the interior of the sleeve.
The brim guard is centered on the anterior
proximal socket trim line (fig.2).
Trimming
It is not likely that a sleeve will have
to be cut to a shorter length. If trimming
is required, however, use shears, a paper
cutter, a rotary cutter (WW.700-TL002)
in combination with a straight edge or
pinking shears. Pinking shears will help
distribute the stress to the soft tissue
at the proximal end of the sleeve to a
larger area.
Make sure not to shorten the sleeve too
much. The remaining distal and proximal
gel areas always have to be large enough
to create a reliable seal. Cutting the sleeve
too short and thus impairing its func tiona-
lity is not covered under warranty.
