Routine servicing, calibration and gas sensor replacement.
UK specific guideline BS7967-2 provides information on the use of electronic
portable gas analysers and their use including calibration requirements.
BS7967-2 (4.1) states that “Analysers should be treated with care and used
and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.” Testo Ltd
recommends that our Flue Gas Analysers are serviced and calibrated at least
once annually.
Routine servicing and calibration is important to ensure that the instrument is
maintained properly and will continue to give reliable accurate readings. It is
also a requirement that any Flue Gas Analyser has current proof of calibration.
Proof of calibration is achieved by having an in date calibration certificate and
valid calibration label attached to the instrument.
Testo Flue Gas Analysers use Electro/Chemical sensor technology to measure
gas concentrations and these sensors deplete not only with use but also with
time. Testo Ltd recommends that both the O
2
and CO sensors are replaced at
least once every 3 years by the Manufacturer or a Testo approved service
agent. The life and reliability of these sensors cannot be guaranteed beyond
this period and by having your instrument serviced and calibrated annually will
ensure that the sensors are checked and that they are measuring correctly.
Testo Ltd will not, under any circumstances, be held liable for the performance
of any Testo gas analyser where the cell replacement, servicing or calibration
has been carried out by any organisation other than by Testo or a Testo
approved service agent.
Warranties may be affected.
