2 _1.7 Conversions and changes to the machine
Due to reasons of safety, no changes may be made to
this machine. Any changes which are independently
carried out on the machine rule out liability claims
made against the manufacturer for resulting damage.
Original parts and accessories have been specially
designed for this machine. Parts and equipment from
other manufacturers have not been tested by us, and
have not therefore been released. Their installation and
integration may impede the safety and perfect function
of the machine. All liability claims against the manu-
facturer for damage which occurs due to the use of
non-original parts and equipment are out of the ques-
tion.
2 _1.8 General safety instructions
•
When not in use, the machine must be locked
away; the key - if the design provides for a central
key - must be removed in order to prevent the un-
authorised use of the machine.
•
If the machine cannot be locked away, other suit-
able measures for preventing the unauthorised use
of the machine must be taken.
•
The machine's electric and mechanic safety devices
must not be modified or withdrawn.
•
When operating the machine watch that you do not
affect third parties, have an eye on children in par-
ticular.
•
When transporting larger machines in lifts watch
that the permissible transport weight is not ex-
ceeded.
•
If cable connections or extension cords are used,
their couplings must be splashwater protected.
2 _1.9 Specific safety hints
Never switch the machine on while the
handle is in an upright position. Danger!
When the machine is transported in lifts
make sure that the handle is in a secured
position.
During transportation on the
transportation wheels, never actuate the
shaft adjustment. The machine may hit
the floor and cause damage or injury.
Always operate in outward direction from
the mains socket in order to avoid
overrunning the mains cable.
2 _1.10
Safety instructions for mains-operated
machines
Make sure that the mains cables do not get damaged
by squeezing, bruising, overstrain or friction. The mains
cables must be checked regularly for damage, bare
wires, burning marks etc. The machine must not be
used if the mains connection lead is not in perfect con-
dition. The mains plug must always be disconnected
prior to care and maintenance operations on the ma-
chine or when changing accessories. When replacing
parts such as, e.g. mains connection leads, plugs, etc.,
the technical data specified by the manufacturer must
be adhered to and original replacement parts must be
used, as the safety of the machine may otherwise be
impeded. If the connection lead is damaged, this may
only be replaced by a repair workshop nominated by
the manufacturer.
2 _1.11 Information signs and stickers
Writing, information signs and stickers
must not be removed!
Damaged and illegible information signs
and stickers must be replaced immedi-
ately!
2 _1.12 Product liability
We herewith point out explicitly that the use of the
machine is restricted without exception to the purpose
it is designed for. If the machine is used for any other
purpose all risks are borne by the user.
Any liability of Messrs Tennant is strictly excluded.
2 _1.13 Sources of danger
The operator must not carry out any repairs on the
machine unless trained specifically. When maintaining
or servicing the machine, when exchanging parts or
resetting to a different function it must be ensured that
the machine cannot start accidentally. It must also be
protected from rolling off or tilting and no parts may be
in a position that may cause them to fall down or close
by themselves.
The machine is only intended for use on flat surfaces
with a maximum inclination of up to 2%.
Always attend to locally applicable safety
and accident prevention regulations.
