10.1. Appendx 1: Use of the VLC Media Player software as an audio files player
With the free VLC program downloadable from the link
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.it.html
it is possible to use
your Windows PC as an analog audio player.
For example, it can play an audio file. The file, of any duration and format managed by the program, can be an
announcement or a music compilation to be sent to the AD615/SIP Encoder system.
AD615/SIP will encode it according to the selected algorithm and codec and make it available on a programmed
Multicast channel.
All AD600 listening (receiving) systems on that particular Multicast channel will broadcast this audio.
To do this, follow these steps:
1. Download the VLC program and install it on your Windows PC, the folder where the VLC program is installed is
located under C:/programmi (x86)/VideoLAN/
2. Record or obtain an audio file.
3. From the program window, select the file to play and play it.
AD615/SIP will transform the analog audio playback of the computer into Multicast audio streaming on the LAN, for
the various AD600 receivers in the network.
It will be possible with program options, to play the file once, to perform a cyclic and continuous playback, for
example by combining multiple tracks to play…
