8.5. Audio channels
This section contains the basic programming, where to configure the destination addresses of multicast traffic and
the audio codec to use:
The stream addresses must be preceded by the "#" character (but the software will add it anyway). Channel 1
represents the stream destination associated with the high position of the lever (generally the music) while channel
2 is the destination of the audio associated with the lower position of the lever (announcements from the
microphone). The two streams addresses can also coincide.
All channels (from 1 to 16) can be addressed manually when the system is reached by telephone.
The stream codec parameter indicates which codec to use when digitizing the incoming audio signal. It is not
necessary to program the type of codec set up in AD615/SIP of the receiving devices as the detection will be
automatic. It is possible to choose between the G711 quality (the lowest) and the L16 quality at 32 kHz (the
highest). Obviously a best quality matches a greater bandwidth.
The selected codec in AD615/SIP in the above window will be the same for the background music stream as well
as for the stream output of a voice announcement from the microphone.
