Operation
Record data to RAID
The CTRL7100 has been designed to meet the speci fi ed performance of real time DPX operation with simultaneous
streaming to RAID. With Option STREAMNL/FL-SVPC installed, you can capture to RAID over 2 hours (maximum of 2.75
hours) at full 800 MHz bandwidth. Longer recording times are available at reduced bandwidths.
Make a recording
The recording feature in SignalVu-PC lets you record the acquisition data directly to an .xdat fi le. To make a recording, perform
the following procedure:
1. Select Setup > Recording from the main
menu bar or click on the Favorites
bar.
2. Select the Record Setup tab in the
Recording control panel.
3. Browse for the location to which you
want to save the
fi le (or type in the path).
4. Select the base fi lename. This will
be used for all recorded fi les. This
base name is appended with additional
information, creating unique
fi le names.
5. Enter the Acq BW or select the Auto
check box to use the detected bandwidth.
6. If you require 16-bit samples, uncheck
the Data packed at 12 bits/sample
for 800 MHz BW box. If you do select
the box, you can use an unpacking
utility to convert the 12 bits/sample data
to 16 bits/sample data at a later time.

NOTE. At 320 to 800 MHz acquisition bandwidth, data can be packed in 12-bit samples. This is done to reduce the data
transfer rate requirement and to guarantee gap-free recordings. At 320 MHz acquisition bandwidth and below, packing is not
necessary and data is always stored as 16-bit samples.
