Appendix E: Equivalent-Time (ET) oscilloscope operation
When the oscilloscope is correctly con
fi
gured for your signals, click OK to allow
the SSU to
fi
nish its initial launch. This con
fi
guration will be recalled any time
you launch the SSU. This is done so that the oscilloscope may be used for other
tasks and easily made ready for use with the OUI again. If you make changes
to the setup, be sure to over write the default.stp
fi
le so that your settings will
be recalled next time.
OM4000 User Interface (OUI) (ET)
Start the OUI in Vertex Processing mode with the icon on your desktop or in the
Programs menu.
NOTE.
Be sure that Matlab is available and properly licensed, since the OUI will
attempt to launch a Matlab Command Window, and will appear to stall if Matlab
is not available.
Connecting to the oscilloscope upon OUI startup is done with the Connect button
in the Scope Setup section of the Setup ribbon.
NOTE.
The Scope Service Utility runs on the target oscilloscope. Be sure to
install the proper version for equivalent-time (ET) oscilloscopes. See software
installation information.
When connecting from the OUI, you will see a check box for VISA. Do not check
the “use Visa” box when connecting to an ET oscilloscope.
NOTE.
Clicking Connect on the OUI Setup Tab brings up the Scope Connection
Dialog box for connecting to the Scope Service Utility.
