When the DHCP Server Is Not in the Network.

If the DHCP server is not in the

network, perform the following procedure to set the network parameters.

If you connect the MTX100B directly to a single PC or an MTS400 system:

In the dialog box, select

Use the following IP address

Set the

IP address

parameter to be the same IP address as the PC or the

MTS400 system address except for the last digit. The last digit must be
different from the last number in the PC or the MTS400 system IP address.

Set the

Subnet mask

parameter to be the same net mask (subnet mask)

used by the PC or the MTS400 system. Do not enter a number if the PC or
the MTS400 system does not have a net mask.

You do not need to enter a

Default gateway

if you are directly connected

to a single PC or an MTS400 system.

If you connect the MTX100B to your local Ethernet network:

In the dialog box, select

Use the following IP address

Ask your local network administrator and set the appropriate addresses.

CAUTION.

To prevent communication con

icts on your Ethernet network,

ask your local network administrator for the correct numbers to enter in the
dialog box if you connect the MTX100B to your local Ethernet network.

Verify the Ethernet connection by using a ping command from the PC or
the MTS400 system.
